Determine Solaris is Upgraded or Clean Installed Version

You can tell the Solaris operating system has been upgraded or from a clean installation version by executing below command:

# cd /var/sadm

• If you found only “install” folder in the directory, it means that the Solaris operating system was performed by installation.

# ls
install

• But, if you found only “upgraded” folder in the directory, it means that the Solaris operating system was upgraded version

# ls
upgraded
