Google Webmaster disalow links tool is use to remove any spams or low quality links from your website. So, if you think your website has been linked with that kind of websites – you can do as following,
Log in to your Google Webmaster Tools. Go to Search Traffic and select Links to Your Site. Under the Who links the most, click on More >>
Select on Download more sample links.
Select the download format. Choose CSV to download and open using Microsoft Excel sheet format.
Open the downloaded CSV file, copy the contents and paste them to notepad. You need to specify which links / domains to disavow. Below is the example of the .txt format,
Now, open the disavow links tool page. FYI, the disavow links tool page is not reside within the Google Webmaster Tools. Click on DISAVOW LINKS.
You will get the below message, click again on Disavow Links.
This is an advanced feature and should only be used with caution. If used incorrectly, this feature can potentially harm your site’s performance in Google’s search results. We recommend that you only disavow backlinks if you believe that there are a considerable number of spammy, artificial, or low-quality links pointing to your site, and if you are confident that the links are causing issues for you.
Upload the text file and click on Submit.
If the upload is successful, you will received the notification like below. If not, do the corrections and upload it again. Any new upload will replace the previous uploaded file. So, next thing to do is – just wait Google to crawl your Website!
