Aside from checking from the SAP system status – You can also use the function module (from transaction code SE37) to determine the Oracle database release.
Execute transaction code SE37, key in the function module DB_ORA_GET_RELEASE and press F8. Press F8 again on the next screen and you will get the output as below,
