Parameter Description
This parameter specifies whether Opticonnect is used instead of TCP/IP if the application server and database server are not on the same partition.

This parameter is only evaluated for DB2 for IBM i.
Are other parameters affected or dependent?
dbs/db4/driver_type: Note that dbs/db4/opticonnect has no effect, if XDN is used.
The same applies for dbs/db4/connect_type = O. SAP Note 1760552 describes how TCP/IP can be used over Opticonnect in this case. However, we recommend in general that you do not use this procedure.
