dbs/db4/parallel_alter_instance

Parameter

dbs/db4/parallel_alter_instance

Short text

Override the selection of the parallel alter lock manager

Parameter Description

If you use the parallel ALTER function (see SAP Note 960392), an instance number is used to identify a parallel alter lock manager. Each SAP system on a database host (iSeries) should have its own lock manager. By default, the message server port number module 100 is used. For example: sapmsB4L with a port number of 3642 would have a parallel alter instance of 42.

Example: dbs/db4/parallel_alter_instance = 42

Include this profile parameter in DEFAULT.PFL. The current value is included in the developer trace: parallel_alter_instance = 42

See SAP Note 960392
