scsa/shm/file

Parameter

scsa/shm/file

Short text

Identifier for Shared Common System Area

Parameter Description

The SCSA is a shared memory area that is used by basis components such as system log, trace, and so on. Depending on the operating system, the SCSA is created either as a standalone shared memory area, or as area no. 5 on the SAP IPC interface. If this is created directly in the operating system, this can require a numeric or textual detection key. This parameter is for textual keys (for example, for OS/2). It contains the instance number by default so that different instances do not confuse their SCSAs.
