RSA1: No entry for BW_USER in table RSADMIN available

Symptom

You are in transaction code RSA1 and you want to setup a connection from the Source System tab. Unfortunately, when you right on the folder to create – below error coming out,

No entry for BW_USER in table RSADMIN available
Message no. RSAR059

Diagnosis
Entry is missing in table RSADMIN for the background user in BW or the source system.

System Response
The system terminates the function.

Procedure
Make the following setting in BW Customizing in accordance with the short text of the message:

Specify a proposal for the background user in source system.

or

Create a BW background user.

Solution

Execute transaction code RSA1. On the initial screen, from the top menu, go to Settings > Global Settings.

Ensure the BW User ALE is maintained with the correct user. Press Save and re-execute the transaction code RSA1 again.
