In the initial screen of transaction code ST12, scroll down a bit till you see the Trace analyses area. Click on the Full screen.
The merging function is only applicable for 2 or more trace files. In this example, we have 8 trace files. You can see it from 1#8 from the screenshot.
To execute the merge, click on Evaluate and choose Merge ABAP traces. There are 2 scenarios on merging, which as below,
- To merge all the trace files, click on the parent folder and go to Evaluate > Merge ABAP traces. Meaning in this example, we are combining all the 8 trace files together.
- To merge with only certain trace files, use CTRL keyboard button and choose the trace file. Then, click on Evaluate > Merge ABAP trace. The output trace will be based on 1-2 and 1-4 as per below screenshot.
