How to Transport Business Functions (SFW5)

While activating the business function (SFW5) in SAP system, there is no dialog prompt of creating the transport request. This will bring us issue as the same activation need to be apply to the next system and SAP does not recommend to manually activate the business function in production system!

Solution

So, how do we do it?

Step 1: From the initial screen of transaction code SFW5, go to the top menu, click on System Settings > Transport.

Step 2: You will now prompted with the workbench request dialog screen. Enter the request number if you want to include to an existing transport or create a new transport. It’s done!

  • The Switch Framework transport means that the whole activation settings are being transported. You cannot transport only a part of the activated business functions.
  • The business function which was activated in the target system will be deactivated if it is not activated in the source system.
  • Value of “Status tables Switch Framework client-independent” is A, which means that all activated business functions will be added to this transport request.
  • If you check the object list of the transport request, you will find only one entry “R3TR SF02 A” which indicates all activated business functions in the system. It is impossible for you to specify individual business functions to be added into the transport request.
