Basis Steps to Install & Configure SAP Screen Personas

First of all, you must always refer to the latest official documentation from SAP Help or SAP Notes. In this article, we will show you the steps on how to perform the SAP Screen Personas installation and activities that are required post installation.

This will give you high level overview on performing the Basis activities before you proceed with the actual execution.

PERSONAS Installation

Step 1: From SAP Note 2013453, define which PERSONAS version is compatible to your current SAP_BASIS component. In this example, our SAP_BASIS version is at 702 (min SAPKB70209) and we will use the PERSONAS 300 version. Download the installation and latest support packages media.

Step 2: Uncar the downloaded media files and place them inside EPS\in directory. Load the EPS package files from the application server.

Step 3: Select the PERSONAS add-on and select continue to start the calculation of the installation queue.

Step 4: Extend the installation queue with further support package. Select continue to start the calculation of the extended installation queue.

Step 5: The extended queue is consistent and matches the selected target packages. Choose continue to add Modification Adjustment Transports to the queue.

Step 6: Click No.

Step 7: Open SAP Note 2013453 to locate the password for the OCS package.

Step 8: Start the installation in background mode.

Step 9: The installation is processing now.

Step 10: The installation is successfully imported. Click Finish.

Post Installation

Once the installation has complete, please perform the following post installation setup.

Set the parameter em/global_area_MB to at least 1GB using transaction RZ10, then restart the system. Check SAP Note 1888428 for details.

Activate below SICF services.
- /default_host/sap/bc/personas
- /default_host/sap/bc/personas3
- /default_host/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui
- /default_host/sap/public/bc/ui5_ui5
  - If using Personas Web Dynpro ABAP
- /default_host/sap/bc/se/
  - If using Slipstream Engine
- /default_host/sap/bc/se/m
  - If using Slipstream Engine
- /default_host/sap/bc/se/proxy
  - If using Slipstream Engine
- /default_host/sap/bc/se/rg
  - If using Slipstream Engine

Assign the following roles to the authorized users.
- /PERSONAS/ADMIN_ROLE
  - Full authorization to all Personas features
- /PERSONAS/CONSUMER_ROLE
  - Standard user with authorization to manage flavors
- /PERSONAS/EDITOR_ROLE
  - Business user with full editing rights
