How to Update Printer Information in SPAD

In the initial screen of transaction code SPAD, click on Display (within Output Devices)

Click on Create (Shift+F1)

Enter the output device name and define all the other information. Next, click on Device Type Selection, as highlighted on below screenshot.

A new dialog will pop up, follow the instructions below,

  • Click on the info icon below. Then an SAP Note appears in a browser.
  • Read the note carefully.
  • Download the ZIP file attached to the note and unzip it.
  • Upload the unzipped file (an xml file) by clicking the upload icon on the main screen.

Click on Update printer information (as highlighted).

Locate the XML file which you have downloaded earlier. Click OK and it will automatically update the printer information.

You can also verify the printer information from the dataset version.
