You are getting below error message while accessing a report or transaction which uses ALV grids,
Not possible to switch to Excel display
Message no. SALV_GRU121
This happened might be due to
- When there is already another Excel session opened outside the SAP window
- When an Excel work process has not been closed correctly
Solution
As per SAP Note 2808829 – Not possible to switch to Excel display (SALV_GRU121),
Avoid parallel usage of Office documents, as explained in SAP Note 176642 – “Simultaneous editing several Office documents”.
