By default, user will not be able to export line item display data to different spreadsheet file formats after checking the ‘Always Use Selected Format’ option.
If the flag is set, the data is always transferred in the selected format when you export an ALV grid without you being able to define a new format.
There are 2 ways to overcome this issue.
Method 1
Launch report SALV_BS_ADMIN_MAINTAIN via transaction code SE38/SA38. Select on User-Specific Settings for SAP GUI ALV.
Look for the impacted user and click on it. Now, you have 2 options,
- Click on Edit to change user format setting or
- Click on Remove to delete the user format setting
So, once the above step(s) are done, you can try to export your spreadsheet again.
Method 2
Solution referred as in SAP Note 1678355 – Cannot export Line Items Display Reports to different spreadsheet file formats.
You have to ensure you are in the ALV grid mode. This can be achieved with Settings > Switch list.
So now, you can right-click on any value in the list and select ‘Spreadsheet…’ or click on the ‘Export’ button.
Select a different file format to export.
