SM52 VMC Cannot be Activated after Kernel 720 Upgrade

Symptom

You are just completed the 720 kernel upgrade and want to activate the VMC from transaction code SM52. But, the activation is failing.

In transaction code ST22, you will also see the ABAP dumps like below,

Category               Installation error
Runtime Errors         RFC_VMC_COMMUNICATION_ERROR
Date and Time          [time-stamp]

Solution

Login to the operating system level, go to executable directory, (cdexe) and remove the following directory (ensure to make a backup before deleting it)

rm jkit/
rm cfw/
