Checking MDS, MDIS & MDSS Version

You can refer below steps to find out the MDS, MDIS and MDSS version in Linux, UNIX or Windows operating system environment.

Linux, UNIX

Browse to the executable directory of MDS, MDIS & MDSS. Look for *VERSION text file and you can find the version status there. Below is the example for MDS and xx is the instance number.

# cd /usr/sap/SID/MDSxx/exe/
# ll *VERSION
MDS_VERSION
SHARED_VERSION
# more MDS_VERSION
7.1.08.274

Windows

Browse to the executable directory of MDS, MDIS and MDSS. Look for the VERSION file and double click on it to find the version state.

C:\usr\sap\SID\MDSxx\exe\

Alternatively, as in the same directory as above, locate and right click the MDS.exe, MDIS.exe or MDSS.exe execution file. Then, choose Properties > Version Build.
