
Prerequisites
• The platforms used for the activity are SAP ERP 6.0 SR3, Windows Server 2008 R2 and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2. The homogeneous system copy method is backup and restore.
• Full backup of the source system.
• On the target, install the Windows Server 2008 R2, Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 and SAP ERP 6.0 SR3. Make sure the version, support packages and kernels are sufficient (refer to SAP Notes).
• Restore the backup to the target system.
• Download the software provisioning manager (70SWPM).
Homogeneous System Copy
1. Browse to SAP Business Suite 2005 > SAP ERP 6.0 Support Release 3 > Software Life-Cycle Options > System Copy > MS SQL Server > Target System Installation > Central System > Based on AS ABAP > Central System.

2. Select the parameter mode.

3. Enter the target SID and installation drive.

4. Enter the DNS and FQDN (if any).

5. Provide the master password.

6. Choose Homogeneous System Copy.

7. Enter the MS SQL Server database instance name.

8. Click Next.

9. Enter the software request location of UC Kernel NW.

10. Enter the database schema password.

11. Click Next if you are using the same instance number. Else, define the instance number.

12. Enter the central instance parameters.

13. Click Next.

14. Set the password of DDIC user in client 000.

15. Parameter summary. Click Revise to change, else Next to proceed.

16. The execution will start.

17. Complete! Now, proceed the post steps of the system copy. Ensure to change the source logical name to target in the SQL Server Management Studio.
