Enable & Disable Windows AutoPlay Function

Whenever you inserted a CD or thumb drive, the Windows will automatically popping out the AutoPlay dialog box. The Windows AutoPlay will recommends you the program to run the files from the cd or thumb drive. You can enable or disable the function using the Local Group Policy Editor.

Open the Local Group Policy Editor (search the name from the Start Menu). Navigate to the following tree,

Local Computer Policy > User Configuration > Administrative Templates
> Windows Components > AutoPlay Policies

On the right panel, double click on ” Turn off Autoplay”. To turn off, choose Enabled and to turn on, choose Disabled. If you select for Enabled, you can select the options to turn off the AutoPlay for all drives or just only to CDROM and other removable media drives.
