Dollar Sign in SAP Output Device

While you are doing the printing in SAP system, you notice that there is a dollar sign appearing on the output device.

Solution

The dollar sign appears during the printout is because you have maintain the non-existence printer in SU01 (Defaults tab). You can double check from transaction code SPAD to verify the correct printer to apply.

If you have properly maintain the correct printer but still getting the same issue. Then, you should check the following area,

1. On the SAP screen, enter CTRL + P button (example, go to transaction code SM04 and then press CTRL + P). You will get below screen. Click on Properties.

2. On the next screen, click on Specifications.

3. On the following screen, let the field name as Output Device and click on the pencil icon.

4. Now, remove the old (non-existent printer) with the new printer. Press Enter.

5. You will get this screen again (as same with step number 3 – but with the newly entered Output Device). Click on Copy settings and press Enter.

6. It’s done. The dollar sign should be not appear anymore.
