Symptom
You want to appear offline in the Microsoft Communicator 2007 even though you are online!
Solution
1. Go to Start > Run. Type Regedit and press Enter.
2. Browse the key name, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft and choose Communicator.
3. Double click EnableAppearOffline and change the value to 1.
4. Close the Regedit and Microsoft Communicator 2007 (you can kill from Task Manager). Start back the Microsoft Communicator 2007 and you will see the new status, Appear Offline
