How to Perform Merge (Extend) Disk in Windows

In this article, we will show you on how to perform a disk merge in the Windows operating system environment. You can extend a volume by adding space from one or more additional disks.

For this example, we will increase the disk of drive (H:) and we will delete the drive (O:) and finally, merge it into drive (H:)

Launch the Disk Management and right click on drive (O:) and select Delete Volume. You can also select the Shrink Volume if you only want to reduce the size instead of deleting it.

Ensure you have save or made the copy of the files inside the drive before proceed with the deletion.

Next, right click on drive (H:) and select Extend Volume.

The Extend Volume Wizard will helps you to increase the size of simple and spanned volumes.

From the available field, select the disk (disk 8 is the drive (O:) and click Add. You can adjust the amount of space to be extend or leave it as default in case you want to capture all the size of the selected disk. Click Next.

Click Finish.

Click Yes.

Done. The drive (H:) is now extended.
