
The installation of Oracle 10g (10.2.0.1.0) was done on Windows Server 2003 64 bit version.
Launch the Oracle installer. Select Advanced Installation and click Next.

Select the Installation Type. In this example, we are going to select the Enterprise Edition. Click Next.

Specify the name for the installation and the path where you want to install. Click Next.

The installer will check and verify the minimum requirements for installing and configuring the Oracle database. You may need to manually fix any issues found and ensure the overall result is passed. Once everything is confirmed, click Next.

Select the option to Create a database. Click Next.

Define type of database configuration. In this example, we are going to select General Purpose.

Specify the Global Database Name, SID and Database Character Set. Click Next.

Click Next.

Select File System and specify the database file location (you can use the default). Click Next.

Do select the option Enable Automated Backups if you want to activate the automated backups. Else, choose Do not enable Automated backups. Click Next.

Define the database schema passwords. You can use different password for each accounts or same password for all accounts. Click Next.

The parameter and configuration summary. Please double check and verify all the entered items before start the installation. Once confirmed, hit the Install button.

The installation will kick off now. You can monitor the progress.

The Configuration Assistants will configure and start the components you selected earlier. No action needed here as the execution is still running.

The database creation is now complete. The screen dialog will shows the database log files location, database information and database control URL. You can screenshot the screen to future references. Click OK.

Below screen will appear and the Oracle Database 10g installation is now complete and successful.
