SAP ERP 6.0 SR3 Installation Steps

Platform

• VirtualBox

Preparation

1. Gather all the necessary installation and guides files for following items,

VirtualBox

Windows Server 2008 R2 ISO

Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2

SAP ERP 6.0 SR3
• Master Guide ERP 6.0
• Installation Guide ERP 6.0 on Windows + MS SQL Server

Installation

1. Install the VirtualBox and setup the virtual machine.

2. Install the Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard.

3. Install the Miccrosoft SQL Server 2008 R2.

4. Before start the SAP ERP 6.0 installation, below checks are executed.

• Execute installation Prerequisites Checker.
• Disable Windows Server 2008 R2 firewall.
• Using NTFS file system.
• Set the User Account Control – UAC to Never notify.
• User authorization (member of Administrator group).

5. Go to the Software Provisioning Manager directory. Double click on sapinst.exe file.

6. Select SAP Business Suite 2005 > SAP ERP 6.0 Support Release 3 > SAP Application Server ABAP > MS SQL Server > Central System.

7. Select Custom and click on Next. The SAPinst will need to log off in order to reliably continue the installation. Click OK.

8. Enter the SID and installation drive.

9. Enter the SAP System Domain Name (if any).

10. Enter the Master Password.

11. Define the domain. For this example, Local Installation selected.

12. Enter the passwords of the operating system users.

13. Select the Windows Domain of the SAP system accounts for the host agent.

14. Define the password.

15. Enter the MS SQL Server instance name.

16. Click Next.

17. Enter the location of UC Kernel NW 7.20/7.21.

18. Enter the installation location of Export 1 & Export 2.

19. Enter the password of the SAP database schema.

20. Choose the number of data files depending on the expected system size.

21. Select the number, location and size of the database data files and log files.

22. Confirm the configuration of tempdb.

23. Enter the general loads parameter.

24. Enter the central instance number.

25. Enter the central instance parameter.

26. Enter the location of Kernel NW 7.20/7.21.

27. Select which archives you want to unpack.

28. The parameter summary will show all the parameters that you have defined earlier. You can click on the specific parameters and then click Revise to make the changes. If everything is perfectly revised, you can click on Next.
