When you are trying to edit and save your WordPress Category Slug, you received error message “Item not updated“. This is caused when there are already same Category Slug existed in the WordPress category. So, the way to encounter this error message is to delete the existed Category Slug in the WordPress Category.
1. Login to your WordPress Dashboard. Go to Post Tags under Posts.
2. Search for the existed Category Slug in Search Tags field.
3. Delete the Category Slug and try to edit and save your Category Slug again!
