Open the Control Panel (from the Windows Start Menu). Look (search from control panel) and click on Java icon. On the initial screen, click on About and you will get the Java installed version and update release.
Alternatively, open the Windows Control Panel and choose Program and Features (Windows 7). Scroll down to find the installed Java version and update release.
