You can use the following steps on how to create the backup / copy of an ABAP program.
1. Execute transaction code SE38. Fill in the ABAP program name and go to Program > Copy.
2. Enter the Target program name and click Copy.
3. Select the options listed and click Copy.
4. Save!
5. Activate any inactive object and you are now done!
