Windows Preview Pane is actually a good stuff to keep where you can have a “first sight” impression before you decided to double click the documents / pictures to get more clearer or details information from it. The Preview Pane is located on the right panel side of your Windows explorer screen.

If you still want to disable the Preview Pane, you can get the steps below,
Method 1
Click on the icon (Hide the preview pane). You can easily enable the Preview Pane by clicking the same icon.

Method 2
Click on Organize and click on Preview pane. If you in Preview pane mode, the action will turn off the Preview Panel. Else, it will turn that off.

Method 3
Using Local Group Policy Editor (using Start > Run – gpedit.msc), navigate to following directory,
User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Explorer > Explorer Frame Pane
At here, change the State of Turn off Preview Pane to Enabled.

Method 4
Open the Windows Registry Editor and navigate to following area,
HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft > Windows > CurrectVersion > Policies > Explorer

On the right panel, add a new DWORD with the Value name as NoReadingPane and put the Value data as 1. Press OK to save.
