In this article, we are going to show you the steps on performing the point time recovery with SAP HANA database. For normal recovery, you can refer to our previous published article, How to Perform HANA Database Restore.
Step 1: Launch and login to the System Database with the backup authorized user. Right click on system and select Backup and Recovery > Recover Tenant Database.
Step 2: Click on the Tenant Database.
Step 3: Select Recover the database to the following point in time. Define the date and time accordingly.
Step 4: Click OK to bring down the Tenant Database.
Step 5: The next screen will load all the available backups. You can click on Check Availability button to check the backup availability.
Step 6: Specify the location of log backup files to be used to recover the database.
Step 7: On the other settings, choose file system / backint for the availability checks of delta and log backups. It’s also recommended to check the option use delta backups.
Step 8: Review the recovery and choose Finish to start the recovery. You can modify the recovery settings by choosing Back.
Step 9: The data recovery will run now.
Step 10: The log recovery will run once the data recovery is completed.
Step 11: The point in time recovery is now complete!
