RSBCS_RESTORE_DOCS: Restore Sent Documents

Report RSBCS_RESTORE_DOCS is used to restore sent documents. This report can be execute from transaction code SE38 or SA38.

Purpose

Sent documents have been deleted by reorganization and you want them to be restored. It is not possible to restore using report RSBCS_RESTORE as the documents are not in a folder.

Prerequisites

There is a backup system where the documents still exist.

Features

The report RSBCS_RESTORE_DOCS enables you to transfer documents according to particular selection criteria from a backup system to the original system using RFC. It must be started in the backup system.

Selection

  • Specify an RFC destination for the original system. Both users (original and backup system) must be SAPoffice administrators (value ADMINISTRATOR in authorization object S_OC_ROLE).
  • Choose the selection criteria of the header data of the documents (table SOOD).
  • If you want to actually transfer the documents, deactivate the test mode field. The test mode only checks if the documents exist in the target system.

Notes

  • The backup system must be an exact copy of the original system. The data belonging to the documents is put back in the original system, mostly with its original keys. The documents are therefore not completely new. For this reason, the report is not suitable for transport between any systems of your choice.
  • The report does not transfer any mapping entries. Use RSBCS_RESTORE for this.
