Use
The message store contains the application logs that exceed the maximum number of messages defined in Customizing. For more information, see Customizing for Basic Functions -> User Interface -> Define Message Settings.

Selection
You can restrict the selection of log entries in the message store by defining the following:
- User names for which the messages were written
- Start and end dates of periods when the messages were written
- Handles of application logs which are linked to written messages in the message store
In addition, you can specify the message type. You can distinguish the following:
- Messages that are written into the application log
- Messages that are shown on the user interface
You can reorganize the message store by deleting obsolete messages. To this end, you can specify the number of days that determine the retention period of the messages. A message is considered obsolete when it exceeds the number of days specified.
Output
The system shows log header information in the SAP List Viewer (ALV).
The system shows the message data in XML format.
Activities
To access the message store, on the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Transportation Management -> Administration -> Display Message Store.
You can export messages of the message store to an XML file and then analyze the data in any XML viewer.
