Reset SAP Portal Administrator Password

1. Go to configtool directory. In this example, the directory is

C:\usr\sap\<SID>\<INSTANCE>\j2ee\configtool\

2. Double click on configtool.bat to start the ConfigTool.

3. Under Global Server Configuration, choose Services. Find com.sap.security.core.ume.service and click on it.

4. Under Global Properties, find ume.superadmin.activated.

5. Set the Custom Value to TRUE. Click on Set to apply the changes.

6. Then, click on ume.superadmin.password. Define a new password for this, as example abc123. This is going to be your sap* password when you try to logon.

7. Don’t forget to click Save and restart the j2ee engine to activate the new changes.

8. Open the Portal and logon with SAP* as the username and the defined password.

9. Go to Identity Management and search for user Administrator. Click on Modify to change the Administrator password and save!

10. Go back to ConfigTool and set the Custom Value as the default value for ume.superadmin.activated and ume.superadmin.password.

11. Restart the j2ee engine back.
