1. In RZ04, choose Instances/operation modes.
2. Go to Instance > Create new instance.
3. Fill in all the required fields, Host name, SAP system number, Start Profile name, Instance Profile name and number of work process. As recommended, distribute more Background processes for Night operation mode. Please set the work process distribution for both Day and Night operation mode. Click Save!
4. You are now successfully activate the SAP operation mode & instance. If your system have more instances, you can add the instances and configure same like previous steps above.
Additional note:
You can actually generate this configuration automatically, by go to Settings > Based on current status > New instances > Generate.
5. Go to transaction SM63, select Normal operation (24 hr).
6. Set the active operation mode for each hour of the day.
