
You are getting below message while perform activities within transaction code OKEQ.
Background job still running - data can be displayed only
(Message no. KT346)
Diagnosis
You want to process versions. Currently, this is not possible because background processing runs for versions have not finished.
You can only display the versions without performing any changes.
Procedure
You can change versions again only if all background jobs for changing versions have been completed. You can find the corresponding jobs in the transaction code SM37. The job names start with,
- [user]_TKA09…
- [user]_TKA09…
You may have to select across all users and reset the date on the selection screen.
Notes on the background processing:
When you start background processing, an indicator is set in the version which shows the system if background processing is complete when you call up the version maintenance again.
Using the job overview, you can determine whether background processing When background processing is successfully completed, the system removes the lock indicator from the relevant version.
You can call up the version maintenance again in change mode.
If background processing is stopped, the following problems occur:
- The system does not reset the lock indicator
- You cannot call up the version maintenance in change mode
If this is the case, you need to remove the lock indicator manually from the version:
- Start the version maintenance transaction code QKEQN or OKEVN in the display mode.
- On the selection screen, enter the “=KILL” command in the OK code field
The lock indicator is removed from all version and you can start the version maintenance in change mode again.
