Parameter
em/max_size_MB
Short text
The maximum size of extended memory pool
Parameter Description
The maximum size of the extended memory that can be allocated. An extension at runtime is only implemented for Microsoft Windows NT. The parameter therefore only has an effect under Microsoft Windows NT.
Microsoft Windows NT: The extended memory is created with the initial size em/initial_size_MB (Default: [size of the main memory in MB]). If you require additional memory, the extended memory is increased in steps of [main memory in MB / 2] until it reaches the maximum size em/max_size_MB. The default value for this parameter is 20 GB (unlimited). This means that the extended memory can increase until all the address space in the NT page file is used up.
