enq/client/delay_jitter

Parameter Description

Specifies the time interval after which the enqueue client triggers renewed lock queries in the case of a lock conflict.

If there is a lock conflict, the enqueue client waits one second before it requests the enqueue lock. So that lock conflicts do not occur again after this time, the new lock requests can be spread out during a selected time interval using enq/client/delay_jitter. If this parameter is set, the waiting time between two lock requests is within the following interval:

Waiting time – Offset / 2, Waiting time + Offset / 2.

Example:

With the default setting of 400 ms, this is between 0.8 and 1.2 seconds.

Application Area

The value in this parameter will only be used if standalone enqueue server 2 is used; see enq/enable.
