By default, the VMC (transaction code SM52) will be automatically start every time you restart your SAP system.
But, in case of manual startup is required you shall look at the following parameter and as well of these SAP Notes.
- vmcj/enable
- Set the value as on from the transaction code RZ10.
In some cases you may need to set the parameter vmcj/option/ss = 300K. This happens in Windows and Microsoft SQL Server environments. Please refer to 2478085 – VMC does not start automatically on Windows environment for details.
