How to Transport AL11 User Entries

You are planning for a system refresh and part of the requirement is to retain the AL11 SAP directories in the target system. For your information, the AL11 directories will be completely overwritten with the source SAP system.

So, before you do the database restoration on the target system, please execute the following steps.

Open transaction code SE16 and enter the table name as USER_DIR. Click on the table content icon or use F7.

Click execute or F8 on the next screen.

From the top menu, click on Table Entry and choose Transport Entries.

You will be prompt for the workbench request dialog box. Click on F8 to create a new transport request and enter all the necessary information.

By default, the above-created transport will be in the local change request state. You will need to create a transport of copy (TOC), in order to generate the cofile and datafile.

Once TOC is created, release the transport request and take note of the generated cofile and datafile.

After you have complete the database restoration, you can start to import the transport request into the target system using the transaction code STMS.

Verify the imported AL11 entries! That’s all!
