ixml/xml_expansion_factor

Parameter

ixml/xml_expansion_factor

Short text

XML expansion factor for the iXML DTD restriction

Parameter Description

This parameter is used if the parameter ixml/dtd_restriction is set to “expansion”. In that case iXML compares the number of bytes read from the source XML with number of bytes created during the parsing. If the number of created bytes exeeds the product of number of read bytes to the value in ixml/xml_expansion_factor, iXML interrupts the XML parsing due to a detection of a DoS attack.

A low value in this parameter may lead to the issue, that the DTD restriction prohibit the parsing of non critical XML documents.

Application programs can use the interface IF_IXML_ISTREAM to to overwrite the default restriction.
