Managing SAP GUI, SAP Logon & SAP Session Traces

Open the SAP Logon and select the Options.

You can find the settings for Session Traces, SAP GUI Traces and SAP Logon Traces under the Traces folder.

Activate / Deactivate Traces

To activate the SAP Session Traces, you may need to select at least 1 session from the Session Trace. Else, click on Select All. Choose the Time Stamps option as well. Then, click on Enable to activate the Session Traces. You can click on Disable (from the button Enable) to deactivate the setting.

SAP Session Traces

For SAP GUI Traces,  just select the options as per below.

• Trace deactivated
• Level 1: Errors
• Level 2: Errors and Warnings
• Level 3: All (Diagnostic Trace)

SAP GUI Traces

Finally, for SAP Logon Traces. Follow as per below,

• Trace deactivated
• Errors
• Errors and warnings
• Errors, warnings and monitor
• Errors, warnings, monitor and detailed output
• Errors, warnings, monitor, detailed output and time stamp.

All the traces – session, gui and logon are stored in one folder. You can always click on button Open Trace Folder to access all the files generated. As in our computer, the traces are stored in below directory,

C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\SAP\SAP GUI\Traces

If the traces become large. You can always clean up the traces by clicking the button Delete All Traces File (on each traces) to remove the trace files.
