Parameter
rdisp/avoidTraceInSigHandler
Short text
Avoid kernel tracing inside the signal handler
Parameter Description
On some SAP platforms, C runtime functions such as memory management use locks to protect critical sections. If the execution of a section of this type with a set lock is interrupted by a signal, the process can be blocked if the same critical section is to be executed again during the signal handling. The signal handling should therefore only occur to the extent that is absolutely necessary.
Since the SAP kernel trace also indirectly calls memory management through the file I/O functions of the C runtime, problems can also occur during the signal handling due to the writing of traces. For this reason, the trace is not active by default during the signal handling. However, if it is required to analyze a problem, you can use this parameter to activate it.
