rdisp/configurable_wp_no

Parameter

rdisp/configurable_wp_no

Short text

Set number of configurable work processes

Parameter Description

You can use this parameter to specify the maximum number of work processes that can be activated at runtime (programmatically or during an operation mode switch). Normally, this is exactly the same number of processes as were started when the server was started. However, to be able to start work processes (dynamic processes) in certain situations (for example, if all processes of a type are in the status “HOLD”), a server creates the internal structures for managing the processes somewhat larger.

With the concept of dynamic processes, it is therefore possible during the runtime of a server to change not only the distribution of the work processes to dialog, background processing, update, and so on, but also to change the total number of processes. The maximum number of processes is defined by the parameter rdisp/wp_max_no.

For the value of rdisp/configurable_wp_no:

• If the value is “DEFAULT”: the value of the parameter rdisp/wp_max_no is used, and this value is reduced by a certain number of processes

• If the value is a number: this number must be smaller than or equal to the value of rdisp/wp_max_no.
