rdisp/msserv_internal

Parameter

rdisp/msserv_internal

Short text

internal port for server communication

Parameter Description

If this parameter has a value n not equal to 0, the message server opens another port (port number ),in addition to its port sapms[SID]. This new port is used only for internal communication with the application servers. Application servers must also log on through this port, otherwise they are rejected.

The normal sapms[SID] port can still be used for queries. Load distribution functions and the retrieval of application server lists and logon groups are not affected. As a result, the communication modes of the message server can be decoupled.

For internal communication a different data channel is used from the one used for external communication, where external clients only have read-only access.

Value 0 means that no internal port is used. This is also the default setting.

This parameter must be defined centrally and must be the same on all application servers.
