Number of Spool Work Processes
Parameter Description
This parameter specifies whether or not a spool work process (SWP) is to be started on the relevant instance. To start an SWP, the parameter must have a value of at least 1. The default setting is 0, meaning that no SWP is started. You can set the parameter in DEFAULT.PFL, or in the respective instance profile. If you set it in DEFAULT.PDF, all instances have the same configuration.
Take the advice in SAP Note 19706 on the number of SWPs in a system into account.
