This option lets you make the changes made in the OS hosts and services tables in a running SAP System take effect by making the desired changes at the operating system level and then, instead of restarting, resetting the host name buffer for the following components.
1. Go to transaction code SMGW.
2. Goto > Expert Functions > Host Name Buffer. Click on dustbin icon or go to List > Invalidate Buffer.

1. Go to transaction code SM51. Choose Goto > Host Name Buffer > Reset. At here, you can select either Application Server, Message Server, ICM or Entire System.
