Identity of application server for external security product when using Secure Network Communications

Parameter Description

This parameter specifies the name and the name type of the application server in the external security system.

Name of external security system
Depending on the external product, the name can be, for example, an X.500 name or another product-specific name. The name is specified in the external system.

Name type
The name type is specified in a prefix (see below)

Values allowed

An “identity” (often called the “SNC name”) consists of a maximum of three parts, the first two (maximum) are specified in the area, the last part depends exclusively on the (external) network security product used.

Standard format
[name type]:[name]

Extended format
[name type]/[product]:[name]

where [name type] is one of seven possible characters:

• u “user name”
• s “host-based service name form”
• p “printable name”
• x “product private name type 1”
• y “product private name type 2”
• z “product private name type 3”

The following is currently allowed as product specifications:
krb5 secude

Recommendations
If possible, include the system number and host name of the application server in the name.
