SPAU: Error during RFC connection to SAP, cannot update SAP Note

The ABAP team is performing the SPAU modification and adjustment after the SAP system upgrade. They have encountered issue while executing the “Prepare Notes” step in SPAU.

From transaction code SM37, you will see the job SCWB_NOTE_PREP_AND_OBS_NOTE_RST is in cancelled state. The job log contains below error message,

Error during RFC connection to SAP, cannot update SAP Note
Job canceled after system exception ERROR_MESSAGE

Solution

Go to transaction code SE38 and execute report RCWB_UNSIGNED_NOTE_CONFIG. Choose “Do not download unsigned SAP Note“. Click Save to activate the change.
