Symptom
We are getting below error while upgrading the SAP Solution Manager 7.1 SPS4 to SPS14 using the SUM 1.0 SP16 (PL11).
The procedure cannot proceed with JVM8 start option for product releases lower than NetWeaver 750. Please stop the SUM tool and start the procedure with JVM6 option as described in the Software Update Manager guide.
SUM configure prepare-configuration determine-jdbc-driver com.sap.sdt.j2ee.services.servicesimpl.EngineProfileService class com.sap.sdt.util.diag.DiagException
Solution
Stop the SUM and start back using below command,
STARTUP.BAT confighostagent jvm6
From the SUM guide,
To start the Software Update Manager, enter the following:
• For all target releases up to SAP NetWeaver 7.40 including:
STARTUP.BAT confighostagent jvm6• For target release SAP NetWeaver 7.5:
STARTUP.BAT confighostagent
