Single-container system: SQL/MDX access port for standard database access in a single-container system. Access to this port must be enabled for all database clients, for example, applications, application servers, end-user clients, SAP HANA studio, and SAP HANA cockpit 2.0.
Multitenant systems: As of SAP HANA 2.0 SPS 01, in a new multitenant system created with one initial tenant database or an upgraded single-container system, the first tenant database is also accessible on port 3xx15.

Port numbers are assigned automatically from the available port number range according to availability at the time the database is created. Administrators can also explicitly specify which port numbers to use when they create the tenant database.
The max range may be extended by reserving the port numbers of further instances.
