The client is locked for data import by client copy (SCC1)

You are getting below error message when performing transaction code SCC1.

Diagnosis
The target client is protected against overwriting by Client Copy.

System Response
You cannot perform a Client Copy (including copy by transport request -transaction SCC1).

Procedure
Check the settings for this client in the Client Administration (transaction SCC4).

Solution

Go to transaction code SCC4. Look for Client Copy and Comparison Tool Protection. In our case, the default option was at Protection level 1: No overwriting.

So, to get rid of the error, change the option to Protection Level 0: No restriction. Save your changes and re-try.
