Transport profile TPPARAM contains entries for system “SID”
Message no. XT470
Diagnosis
When the transport control program was being configured for the system “SID” it was discovered that this system is already entered in the transport profile TPPARAM.
System Response
The entries in the transport profile TPPARAM for the system “SID” are not copied automatically into the new configuration. The transport control program uses the new configuration immediately for all calls from the SAP System. It ignores the settings in the profile TPPARAM.
Procedure
If you have already made exports or imports for the system “SID” before setting up the Transport Management System, then it makes sense to copy the settings from the profile TPPARAM to the new configuration.
For instructions on copying the settings from the profile TPPARAM for the system “SID” , see the SAP Library under BC – Basis Components > Change and Transport System > BC – Transport Management System > Configuring TMS > Configuring the Transport Domain > Maintaining and Monitoring the Transport Domain > Changing the Configuration of an SAP System > Changing the Transport Control Program Parameters > Copying Parameters from TPPARAM.
To avoid inconsistencies, you must – after you have copied the settings from the profile TPPARAM, if necessary – delete all parameters for the system “SID” from the file TPPARAM. To do this, go to the operating system level, and use the text editor.
Background: If you also use the transport control program tp at the operating system level, you have to specify the transport profile you want the program to use, each time you start it. If several profiles exist for tp (the old TPPARAM profile, and the new profile generated by TMS), the result of starting tp can depend on which of the profiles you have specified. There is more security when a system is entered in exactly one transport profile.
