Steps for kernel upgrade are same with https://itsiti.com/sap-kernel-upgrade. Please ensure to follow respective SAP Notes to avoid any mistakes. Some points taken from the SAP Notes.
• Each database have different ways of upgrade (Oracle for this example)
• Ensure prerequisite are fulfill before start to execute the upgrade (database version, dbsl, OS level patch)
• Download the correct file from SAP Service Marketplace
